LegalTerms of Service

The rules of the road.

By using Solah, you and we both agree to a small set of fair rules. These terms explain what you can expect from the product, what we ask of you in return, and what happens if either of us wants out.

Effective 1 January 2026

In plain English
  • Use Solah for your own day. Personal, non-commercial use. No reselling, scraping, or reverse-engineering.
  • Religious content is sourced, not fatwa. We cite hadith and Qur'an. We're not a substitute for a qualified scholar.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew. Pro is £7/month or £65/year. Cancel anytime from the app store before renewal.
  • Founding-member pricing is locked. 50% off, for life, as long as your subscription stays active.
  • Leave whenever you want. Delete your account in one tap. We delete your data within 30 days.
01

Acceptance

By creating a Solah account, joining the waitlist, or using the Solah website or mobile applications (together, “the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

02

Who can use Solah

You need to be 13 or older. If you’re between 13 and 17, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and accepted these terms on your behalf.

Solah is offered to individuals for personal use. For team or organisation deployments, get in touch at support@solah.app.

03

Your account

You’re responsible for keeping your account credentials private and for everything that happens under your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, contact us immediately.

You agree to give accurate information when you sign up and to keep it up to date. We may suspend or close accounts that contain false information, are used to abuse the Service, or are used in violation of these terms.

04

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • resell, sublicense, or commercialise the Service;
  • scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service except via documented APIs;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code, except where the law expressly permits;
  • circumvent or attempt to circumvent paywalls, usage limits, or security measures;
  • upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, or violates anyone’s rights;
  • use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm other users.
05

Subscriptions + pricing

Solah is offered with a free tier and a paid “Solah Pro” tier (£7/month or £65/year). Prices are inclusive of applicable VAT where shown. Regional pricing is published on the pricing page.

Subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Stripe. They auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal in the app store you subscribed through. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; you keep access until then.

Founding-member pricing. Visitors who join the waitlist and convert to a paid subscription at launch receive a 50% lifetime discount on Solah Pro. This discount applies for as long as the subscription remains active without interruption. If a subscription lapses, the discount may not be reinstated at the same rate.

Refunds are governed by the policies of the app store you purchased through. For purchases made directly via Stripe, see the cancellation flow inside the app or contact support.

06

Your content

Anything you put into Solah — your niyyah, reflections, habits, goals, notes — belongs to you. By using the Service you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display that content solely so we can deliver the Service to you (e.g. syncing across your devices, generating your weekly muhasabah summary).

We do not use your content to train machine-learning models, and we do not sell or share it with advertisers. See our Privacy Policy for details.

07

Religious content disclaimer

Solah surfaces sunan, du’ās, hadith, and Qur’an references that are sourced from authentic primary texts and classical scholarship. We cite where we can.

That said, Solah is a productivity tool, not a substitute for a qualified scholar. For specific rulings (fatwa), turn to a trusted local scholar or institution. We’re not responsible for individual religious decisions taken based on content in the app.

08

Our intellectual property

The Solah name, logo, marketing copy, design system, app software, and the curated sunan/protocols catalogues are owned by Solah and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute them except where expressly permitted (e.g. linking to the marketing site, quoting short text excerpts with attribution).

Verses of the Qur’an and authenticated hadith are not proprietary; we present them with attribution and source citations.

09

Third-party services

Some features rely on third-party services (e.g. Google Calendar). Your use of those services is also subject to their terms and privacy policies. We’re not responsible for third-party services, but we’ll do our best to fix integrations promptly when they break.

10

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is”. While we work hard to keep Solah accurate and reliable, we don’t guarantee that prayer times computed for your location will be uninterrupted or free from edge-case error (e.g. high-latitude irregularities, leap-second discrepancies). Always rely on your local masjid for definitive prayer timings on critical days.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Solah is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of (or inability to use) the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim, or £100.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (e.g. liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence).

12

Termination

You can stop using Solah and delete your account at any time from inside the app (Settings → Account → Delete account). We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, governing law) will continue to apply.

13

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. For material changes we’ll notify you in the app and by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that constitutes acceptance.

14

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be heard in the courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise (in which case you also keep your rights under that law).
